After Mr. Buchta earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences from New York University in 1967, he worked on the Saturn 5/ Apollo 4 Project on Cape Kennedy. In 1974 Mr. Buchta graduated from Golden Gate University Law School where he was a Law Review Editor. Attending law school during the day and graduate school in the evening, Mr. Buchta also earned a Masters of Business Administration in 1974. He was admitted to practice law in the California and Federal Courts on December 18, 1974. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 1979.

Memberships:

Mr. Buchta is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyer of America, the American Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, the Contra Costa Bar Association, the Alameda/ Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association. In 1999 Mr. Buchta was designated a Master of the Bench through the American Inns of Court.

Competitive Edge:

Mr. Buchta attended NYU on a baseball scholarship.  In college, Mr. Buchta also earned the starting quarterback position for the NYU football team.  After college and before law school, Mr. Buchta was an 11th round draft pick and played professional baseball with the St. Louis Cardinal organization during the 1967 and 1968 season.  Mr. Buchta’s highly competitive nature which lead to his success in sports will also contribute to success in his handling of your case.

Personal:

Mr. Buchta is married to Deborah Buchta and has four baseball playing sons in local schools. Mr. Buchta has had a law practice in Contra Costa County for the past 33 years.
